Visco Elastics Should Possess CCD
The Rheologic characteristics:
·
Viscosity
(reflects a solution's resistance to flow,
which is in part a function of the molecular weight of the substance)
·
Elasticity
(Elasticity refers to the ability of a
solution to return to its original shape after being stressed)
·
Surface
tension
·
Pseudoplasticity
= rheofluidity (refers to a solution's ability
to transform when under pressure, from a gel-like substance to a more
liquid substance)
·
Coatability:
It measures the adhesion capacity of
OVDs. It is inversely proportional to surface tension and the contact angle
between the OVD and a solid material.
·
Cohesiveness:
Cohesiveness is the degree to which material adheres to itself.
·
Dispersiveness:
It is the tendency of a material to disperse when injected into the anterior
chamber.
